ERAP smart digital system in Philadelphia

In Philadelphia, the housing team has used federal funds to build a smarter, more flexible technical system to improve their ERAP applications.

Funding from federal emergency relief programs has allowed Philadelphia’s Housing Development Corporation to use money to build a better ERAP application and processing platform.

It has features that improve the service-providers and applicants’ experiences:

  • Algorithms to spot key factors that make a person eligible or not
  • Inter-agency connections, to allow the platform to learn about the person’s situation from other government agencies
  • Customization to allow the team to adjust as the program or the crisis changes
