How does the program work? What are the typical paths of action that the beneficiary + the service-provider take?
Tenants can go to the website on their smartphone or computer (available in Spanish and English) and be guided through basic questions about their location, income eligibility, and type of court case. They are provided with a personalized set of action steps, including instructions for how to respond to an eviction notice in Housing Court, connect to available RTC legal service providers, and join their local community organizing group. Eviction Free NYC provides an early intervention opportunity to connect tenants with attorneys before they get to Housing Court.
